In celebration of the 50th anniversary of 'Dr Who' the BBC cast him to play 'Tom Baker' closely followed by a further appearance on the London fringe theatre scene playing 'Shamrayev' in Chekhov's 'The Seagull'. In 2017 he was offered a leading role in the International feature film 'Day Rises. I Fall', a Polish/UK production followed by a return to stage at the Tabard theatre for a classic British comedy, 'Tied to the Vicarage'. Developments since through to 2023 include film projects from Italy, Spain, Portugal and South Korea and an amazing 47 performances at the London Palladium alongside Donny Osmond, Julian Clary and Nigel Havers.

Paul Hunt began making films in 1965 under the pseudonym H.P. Edwards. His first film was The Psychedelics (1966), followed by Blow the Man Down (1968), "Jefferson Hotel" (1966), "Sweet Smoke" (1967) and 60+ others. He was also the cinematographer and editor on most of them. His company, Canyon Films, became one of the largest distributors of underground films in America (future director Lewis Teague was at that time running the Cinematèque in Hollywood where Hunt's films debuted). Under his pseudonym Hunt worked for directors such as Bethel Buckalew, William Rotsler, Gary Graver, Manuel Conde, Lee Frost and others as a cinematographer, gaffer, sound recordist and editor. The first film produced in his own name was Surfari (1967), a surfing docudrama starring Ricky Grigg. He also has headed up Pacific International Pictures Inc., Filmmakers International Releasing Inc. and still heads United Filmmakers Inc. In 1970 he began working with Orson Welles on The Other Side of the Wind (2018) and continued to work with him on all his films (F for Fake (1973), The Magic Show (1983)) until Welles' death in 1985. During that time he served as Welles' production manager, gaffer, sound recordist, actor and editor. He was also the director of photography in India (produced by Ismail Merchant) and The Netherlands (produced by himself) on Mata Hari (1985), directed by David Carradine, starring Calista Carradine, Bruce Carradine and Nikolai van der Heyde (the Dutch director).

Paul Hunter's inventive style has arguably elevated the standard of music video production. Having worked with celebrated musical artists including Jennifer Lopez, Lenny Kravitz, Christina Aguilera, Eminem, D'Angelo, Courtney Love, Marilyn Manson, Sean 'Diddy' Combs, Mariah Carey, Will Smith and Janet Jackson. Paul is among an elite group of directors who successfully segues between hip-hop and rock, fortifying a diverse client base. After a long and extremely successful career as a commercial and music video director Paul can now add film director to his list of accolades. Beginning production in February 2002 in Toronto, Paul will make his feature length directorial debut with Bulletproof Monk (2003) for MGM. He continues his work in commercial directing by helming big budget product spots for major corporations, including The Gap and Coca Cola (Dasani). Paul received overwhelming recognition for his work on the projects for Nike and Jordan. The Nike commercial went on to be nominated for an Emmy. His ground breaking style of blurring the lines between commercial and music video has generated widespread acclaim for changing the face of commercials today. Paul directed the music video of a lifetime when he directed the come-back single You Rock My World for Michael Jackson. He directed the multiple award-winning Divas video for the soundtrack to the film Moulin Rouge! (2001).
