Mike Ruiz
At the age of 28 Ruiz began in the field of photography. "I found a camera under my Christmas tree and within minutes, I was obsessed. I began shooting everything in sight. I taught myself the intricate mechanics of the camera but it was a couple of years before I realized that I could actually make a living with my work'" Ruiz was quoted as saying. Presently based in New Jersey, Ruiz is known for beauty, celebrity and fashion photography. Mike's long list of celebrity clients include Priyanka Chopra, Lewis Hamilton, Cardi B, Ruby Rose, Kim Kardashian, Katy Perry, Prince, Taraji P Henson, Penn Badgley, Lakeith Stanfield, Kelly Clarkson, Queen Latifah, Betty White and the list goes on and on. He's also gone on direct several music videos for artists such as Kelly Rowland, Vanessa Williams, Erika Jayne and Rupaul and made his feature film directorial debut with the uproarious comedy "StarrBooty" starring Rupaul. Mike has also appeared frequently on America's and Canada's Next Top Model, Rupaul's Dragrace, along with dozens of other television appearances as an expert in his field. Mike is most proud of his community service having supported such organizations as GMHC, The Trevor Project, Housing Works, It Gets Better Campaign, Live Out Loud, Project Angel Food, and GLAAD. He is also on the honorary board of the "Let There Be Hope" research foundation. Mike's life was changed profoundly after adopting a sweet terrier named Oliver. Oliver inspired Mike to work with various animal rights rights organizations and animal rescues throughout the United States including Stand Up For Pits Foundation and numerous animal rescues nation wide.
Mike Ruppert
Mike Ruppert graduated from UCLA with a BA in Public Sevice in 1973. He resigned from the LAPD in 1978 due to stress brought about by threats to his life, and betrayal by those he thought would be loyal (including his fiancée at the time). Ruppert claims to have discovered, in the late 70s, a CIA drug-running operation in New Orleans. His subsequent efforts to expose this alleged crime cost him his career, his health, and almost his sanity. Since 2001, Ruppert has been at the forefront of efforts to expose government cover-ups and lies about the events of September 11, 2001. After a brief few years living abroad, mostly in Venezuela, then Brooklyn, New York, Ruppert has settled once more into a more peaceful life in Los Angeles, California.
Mike Rutherford
If drummer and singer Phil Collins became the superstar of Genesis, it could be said that Mike Rutherford was the secret weapon on their way to fame, fortune and selling out the world's biggest venues. He wrote the lyrics for their first major international single, Follow You Follow Me, which became a UK top ten and a US top 30 hit. He wrote the lyrics to their second UK top ten single, Turn It On Again, two years later. In 1985, he formed another successful project, Mike and the Mechanics. In 1986, Genesis had their greatest success with Invisible Touch, which featured five international hits, two with lyrics by Rutherford, Land of Confusion and Throwing It All Away. In 1988, he created, with B.A. Robertson, the most critically acclaimed song of his career, The Living Years, which became a huge success for Mike and the Mechanics, earning an Ivor Novello Award and millions of plays on US radio. Rutherford was from a distinguished family. His father was naval officer Captain William Rutherford. He was sent to one of England's top private schools, Charterhouse, where he met future Genesis bandmates Peter Gabriel and Tony Banks. Rutherford was the band's bass and rhythm guitarist, contributing important parts to the sound but taking a back seat to lead guitarist Anthony Phillips (who was soon replaced by Steve Hackett). The band became renowned throughout the 1970s for their elaborate, classically influenced progressive rock, which gained a growing cult fanbase. Gabriel left in 1975 but the band grew in commercial appeal. When Hackett left in 1977, the band decided not to replace him and Rutherford became their sole guitarist on subsequent studio albums. They would soon move away from their status as a cult band and into mainstream success, becoming one of Britain's biggest bands of the 1980s and early 1990s. In 2014, Rutherford released his autobiography, The Living Years.
