Michael Woods was born in Detroit, Michigan to Dr. Joseph and Dorothy Woods. He is a theatre trained actor who received his BFA in drama from The University of Detroit/Marygrove College, where in 1977 he won the ACTF Kennedy Center honor for "The Brig". Michael then did regional theatre in such plays as the Mark Medoff premiere of "The Halloween Bandit" and Tennessee Williams' "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof". He received rave reviews opposite Ed Harris in "Scar" at The Met Theatre. In 1981 he got his big break with a contract role on the day time drama "All My Children" (1970). He subsequently starred in five prime time television series, including Night Man (1997), "Bare Essence" (1983) with Ian McShane and "Our Family Honor" (1985) with legendary veteran actor Eli Wallach. The series also marked the series debuts of Ray Liotta and Michael Madsen. He starred in his own critically acclaimed series for NBC, "Private Eye" (1987) which co-starred Josh Brolin. In addition Michael has starred in numerous MOWs and Miniseries, most notably Herman Wouk's sweeping epic "War and Rememberance" (1988), playing son to Robert Mitchum and husband to Sharon Stone, and "Shadow of the Cobra" (1989) with 'Rachel Ward'. His feature film credits include "Lady Beware" (1987) opposite Diane Lane. Most recently Michael has starred in several movies for Lifetime Television and can be seen on "The Closer" (2005) with Kyra Sedgwick.

Born in Philadelphia, Michael came from a line of German sailors on one side and American Delaware Indians on the other. As a 10 year old Michael directed his first film entitle The Tire. It was shot with a super-8 camera his mother bought him. He continued making short films into his late teens. During his early teens, Michael had a few small parts in film and television. Living with his dog in a truck for six months in Los Angeles to save money, he worked odd jobs and construction work, taking whatever small parts he could as he climbed the Hollywood ladder. His first lead came with the film Final Impact (1992) for which Variety deemed him "a promising newcomer." He worked in a series of low-budget films before landing a part in the TV series Acapulco H.E.A.T. (1993). He had a close call with greater fame from being second choice for the role of Robin in Batman Forever (1995). Michael wrote and directed the independent Killing Cupid (2005) which gained him a Best Director nomination at the Action On Film Film Festival in 2005 as well as winning Best Fiction Film at the Hollywood Fiction Film and Video Festival in 2006. He wrote and recently completed appearing the psychological thriller/western Dual (2008) which won Best Independent Action Film. His second directorial work is the drama God's Ears (2008).
Michael Worthman is an actor and director from St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada. He has appeared as a guest star and recurring character in television shows such as Arrow, Supernatural, Hudson and Rex, Astrid and Lilly Save the World, Republic of Doyle, and Lost Girl. He is a regular cast member in CBC's Little Dog as well as the Scandinavian noir series TROM for the European Network Viaplay. Michael has also starred in several films including the independent horror thriller Incredible Violence and the crust-punk indie Hunting Pignut. Concurrent to his film and television efforts, he has been artistic director of several theatre companies and festivals and has directed many productions including Ibsen's An Enemy of The People, Possible Worlds, Rig, and Swept Away.
