Pinder founded Deliberate Films in 2007 and was nominated for the US Award for Social Justice at the Santa Barbara Film Festival in 2010, and went on to win and be nominated for festival awards throughout his career. His titles include feature documentaries, Netflix Original series, television movies, and commercial campaigns. Jesus Town USA, directed and produced by Pinder, was commissioned by Sky Atlantic and picked up Showtime and Netflix in 2015. Released initially in the UK, it received 4 stars in The Daily Mail, pick of the week in the Sunday Times, and critic's choice in The Telegraph, and was heralded as a "factual Napoleon Dynamite" in The Globe and Mail. Population Zero was released in 2016, and won Best Feature Film at the San Francisco Independent Film Festival as well as being nominated for Best Feature in numerous other festivals. His first feature, LAND, premiered at the HotDocs film festival in 2010 to four and five star reviews, and was labeled by one publication as "a Joseph Conrad story seen through a Hunter S. Thompson haze". He went on to direct and produce three more feature documentaries which were released in theaters, television, and on DVD collections through KinoSmith and Cargo Releasing. Trouble in the Peace, his second feature documentary, along with a high concept component video game which were featured at Cannes and released theatrically nation-wide, caused a media storm when oil and gas companies accused the Canadian government of unfairly supporting an anti-fracking campaign.
