He is the son of Lourdes Sifontes, an attorney, and Alberto López Tabares, a mechanical technician from Spain. Being the son and grandson of immigrants, he inherited the free spirit of living in different parts of the world, including USA, Finland, Spain and Puerto Rico that he calls his permanent home. His stays in different parts of the world, made him learn several languages, like English, Finnish, some Russian and Italian, as well as his mother tongue, Spanish. Thompson(Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1998)), joined an all-star international cast Johnny Depp, Giovanni Ribisi, Aaron Eckhart, Richard Jenkins and Amber Heard. López plays The Union Leader of the newspaper The San Juan Star. Later, he starred in the ShowTime TV Series Homeland (2011), as a corrupt money Laundering banker, next to Rupert Friend. López also appears in Speed Kills (2018), next to John Travolta as a Panamanian Drug Dealer, based in the life of Speedboat racing champion and multimillionaire, Ben Aronoff, leading a double life that lands him in trouble with the law and drug lords.
